Dr. Bashioum is licensed by medical examiner boards in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois.

Certification by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery first requires board certification by an American Board of Medical Subspecialties member board (i.e. American Board of Plastic Surgery). Dr. Bashioum became a board certified cosmetic surgeon after completing the required training and casework.

Once certified, a full year's list of surgical cases must be submitted for review and acceptance. The examination is held on two consecutive days. The first day includes 6 separate oral 30 minute exams that cover all the aspects of cosmetic surgery. The second day of examination includes a 3 hour written exam.
