Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons requires certification by an American Board of Medical Subspecialties member board (i.e. American Board of Plastic Surgery). Personal interview and peer review of all cases performed during a 2-year period is also included. This organization oversees all of the surgical subspecialties and ensures the highest ethics.
