What kind of anesthesia will be
used?
Most vein injections in my office require no anesthesia at all. Rarely
patients choose light oral sedation (Valium).
How are vein injections done?
Vein injections are done by injecting a sclerosing agent (hypertonic
saline or Sotradecol). The leg veins are treated in succession until
all have been injected. This can usually be completed in one session.
After treatments a light pressure dressing is applied.
How long will I be in the treatment
room?
The length of time it takes to complete vein injections is about one
hour. You will spend about one two hours in my office.
